GE Capital Real Estate’s relationship with Carr Workplaces, a provider of fully-equipped, alternative work environments, including executive suites and meeting areas with administrative and technical support, began in 1998 when Carr was looking for a stable partner to help expand its real estate portfolio across the U.S.
GE Capital Real Estate and Arden Realty, GE Capital Real Estate’s office property services platform, worked diligently to form a successful partnership with Carr Workplaces. The goal was to help Carr grow and increase their occupancy by offering outstanding client service and property management, speed of execution at all levels and a national network of office space options and relationships.
GE’s working relationship with Carr has been extremely successful and in 2010, when Carr Workplaces purchased a former executive suite business, they made their West Coast business address in a GE property in Orange County, California and subsequently expanded a year later to their current occupancy of 29,625 square feet. Simultaneously, Carr signed a new lease with Arden at Oakbrook Terrace Tower in Chicago for 23,000 square feet of additional space.
Referring small tenants to Carr when we can’t meet their space requirements and increasing their occupancy with the prospects that don’t fit our space profile.
Encouraging a new tenant with a tight move-in deadline prior to TI completion, to “park” in a Carr space for however many months they need rather than losing business or going to another temporary space.
As Carr grows, our partnership with them also grows, and we continue to work with them in many ways to leverage new opportunities and make their business environment more productive and profitable whenever we can.
